BYOD: Connecting Your Personal iOS Device to the WacoISD Network

Here are the steps for provisioning and connecting an iOS device onto the new WacoISD network as a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) client.

Depending on your version of iOS and model of device, these screens may look different and the step-by-step process may vary slightly.

  1. Click Settings > Wi-Fi
  2. Connect to the Provisioning network.

  3. A web browser may auto-launch after connecting. If it does not, open a web browser (e.g. Safari) manually on the device.
  4. The browser may give you a security message warning about accessing the page. Click Continue.

    015
  9. Click Install again.
    016
  10. Click Install.
    017
  11. The Wi-Fi network profile will already contain your username.  Type in your AD password and click Next and then Done.
    018
  12. You will be notified that the profile is installed. Click Done.
    019
  13. A success page will appear after the profile is successfully installed.
    020
  14. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi
  15. You will need to manually disconnect from the Provisioning wireless network and connect to the WacoISD wireless network.
    1. Note: Some devices have problems switching between networks. For best results go to your wireless settings and ‘forget’ the Provisioning network. Then connect your device to WacoISD. It can sometimes take several attempts to connect to another network.

  16. Click Accept on the certificate prompt after connecting to the WacoISD wireless network.
    024
  17. A web browser may auto-launch after connecting to WacoISD, but if it does not, open a web browser manually on the device.

You are now fully provisioned and onboarded to the WacoISD network as a BYOD client. Go to your browser’s home page or retype the URL in the address bar one last time.  Your device will automatically reconnect to WacoISD when you are within range of Waco ISD’s wireless networks anywhere in the district.
